Freq. Asked Questions

Is it necessary to have previous lacrosse experience?

No!  While many of our campers have played lacrosse in the past (and we have a blast helping them get to the next level), every summer we have plenty of campers who have never picked up a stick and are being introduced to the game.  We separate groups by both age and ability, and specialize in helping our "first timers" have a great experience and quickly learn to love the game.

Where should we drop off our daughter?

We will be using the parking lot on Red Spring Road (the opposite end of the stadium from the High School).  We will have a staff member waiting at the bottom of the steps to help direct your daughter up the stairs to the camp.  Camp will begin at 9 AM, but drop-off can happen any time after 8:30.

Is lunch provided?

Campers must provide their own lunch during the week of camp, which can be eaten during the 45 minute lunch break.  Pizza slices will be available for purchase from the canteen.  There will also be a canteen available at all breaks, where Gatorade, water, and snacks will be available for purchase.

Will a day of camp be cancelled because of weather?

The camp has never had to in the past.  Like all outdoor summer camps, G2G Lacrosse is at the mercy of the weather.  The following are our basic policies:

  • We never (under any circumstances) play lacrosse when there is lighting/thunder in the area.  We will always err on the side of caution with this policy. We have access to two buildings on site in the stadium, and have plenty of lacrosse-related activities (lacrosse games on video, lacrosse pictionary and trivia, explanations of confusing rules, ice-breaker games, instructional videos, etc.) to keep us engaged and learning if we are forced off the turf by weather.
  • Assume that camp is being held unless you hear otherwise directly from us (we will call your house and cell numbers).  Even if it is raining/lightning in the early AM, please plan on reporting by 9:00.  In such a case, we will start w/some inside activities, and then proceed as allowed by the weather.  This includes registration.
  • We will play through a light rain (provided of course there is no thunder).  The field turf surface has incredible drainage and allows for play well after a traditional grass field would be unplayable.  In the summer, the rain oftentimes actually offers some relief from the heat.
  • If it gets too hot/humid/both, we will back off physical activities as well.  We will use our own judgment on this, but again, in the desire to avoid heat-related injury and sickness, we will err on the side of caution.
